Bishopdale Tithe Map 1839
Below is a section, of the 1839 Tithe Map from Newhouse Gill to Long Ridge. I have underlined all the scattered farms which make up part of the township of Bishopdale. The farms are: New House Gill; Scar Top, New Houses [later known as the Rookery]; West New Houses; Ribba Hall; Myers Garth; Smelter and Long Riggs [now known as Long Ridge. The School House is also marked showing the school was there before 1839.
